The Bethesda Music Series proudly present Mendelssohn’s famous and mighty oratorio Elijah, sung by the choirs of Bethesda Lutheran Church, First Presbyterian Church, and United Church on the Green. Dr. Lars Gjerde, Director of Music at Bethesda, will direct this his farewell concert with choirs, soloists, and orchestra to finish his eighth and final season with the Bethesda Music Series. Having raised funds for local charities for over 20 years by presenting local and international artists, the concert series at Bethesda continues to make a strong impact on the local arts community and the New Haven neighborhood. Bring a friend and enjoy this dramatic and accessible musical interpretation of the Old Testament story of the prophet Elijah! The Bethesda Choir is thankful to the choirs of First Presbyterian Church and United Church on the Green, and their directors Dr. Patrick McCreless and Mr. Caesar Storlazzi, for several collaborative projects over recent years, enabling performances that feature our combined forces to deliver great and inspiring results.
